Description
After the acquisition of GitHub by M$, it's possible that the accessibility of this platform for users in some countries be subject to decisions made by the directors of the enterprise. In the age of decentralised source code management, it would be great to establish some backups on several GitLab servers. As the Chinese proverb "a crafty hare has three burrows" (狡兔三窟) goes, having copies in other third-tier Git servers increases the difficulty to identify all contents---yet the technology to keep them up to date is easily accessible. An example would be Framagit (for more info).
More generally, decentralised technologies are an ideal way to backup your precious content.
