Fit Gaussian distribution and derive Full-Width Half Max

We need to fit a Gaussian distribution to the number of pores by layer. This allows the maximum number of pores across
layers to be estimated and the layers at the extremes of the distribution excluded by only including the Full width at
half maximum.
