This is not an issue but a feature request, I don't know if it's the correct place to post it.
I just wonder why Eclipsa Audio hasn't taken the priority when it's been a year since it was implemented on YouTube.
This is what YouTube is currently doing:
If I upload a video with stereo channels, the track should be converted to Opus stereo, business as usual.
If I upload a video with Dolby Digital 5.1 or Dolby Digital Plus 5.1, the track should be converted to Eclipsa Audio along the Dolby track. YouTube is not doing this process as soon as we upload the video but it does the conversion some time later.
If I upload a video with FLAC 5.1 channels (6 channels) and 7.1 channels (8 channels), the track should be converted directly to Eclipsa Audio and not to Dolby Digital Plus which is what YouTube is currently doing.
If I upload a video with Opus 5.1 channels (6 channels), 7.1 channels (8 channels) and 7.1.4 channels (12 channels), the track should be converted directly to Eclipsa Audio and not to Dolby Digital Plus which is what YouTube is currently doing though the 7.1.4 track is just getting converted to Opus stereo 😒
YouTube is also converting videos with Eclipsa Audio 5.1 and 7.1 tracks to Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 as soon as we upload them, but the conversion is botched, as explained in a previous ticket.
Can Eclipsa Audio take priority once and for all?
