Currently, DevConnect AI has features like posts, comments, likes, markdown support, and AI-assisted drafting. I was wondering if it would make sense to evolve the community experience using an Instagram-inspired interaction model (while keeping the platform developer-focused, not social-media focused).
Some ideas include:
- Developer Stories (24-hour updates like "Working on a new project" or "Looking for collaborators")
- Short developer reels/project demos
- Hashtags for technologies (#React, #Docker, #AI, etc.)
- Follow developers for a personalized feed
- Notifications for likes, comments, mentions, and collaboration requests
- Carousel posts for tutorials (Problem → Solution → Code → Output)
- Poll posts for technical discussions
The goal isn't to clone Instagram, but to adopt some of its engagement patterns to make developer content easier to discover and more interactive.
