[DISCUSSION] Community Inquiry: Project Maintenance Status & Technical Backlog
Date: May 14, 2026
This discussion is addressed to the AdaptixC2 Community regarding the current state and future of the framework. We are now significantly past the expected monthly update cycle (v1.3), and the core development appears to have slowed down to a point that requires clarification.
The Technical Backlog:
There is currently an accumulation of Pull Requests and Issues that remain unaddressed. Contributions such as #324, #306, and #326 are still waiting to be reviewed and merged into the dev branch. These PRs introduce:
- Native macOS and Linux agents.
- AES-256-GCM encryption.
- CI/CD automation and standalone distribution.
Observations on Maintenance Activity:
What is particularly noticeable is the intermittent nature of the activity from @RalfHacker. While the core engine remains inactive:
- New Themes Repository: About three weeks ago, @RalfHacker launched the AdaptixClient-themes repository (adding the
berial and skull themes), but no further activity followed regarding the framework's pending PRs or issues.
- Social Media Activity: As of May 4, 2026, activity was noted on the official X (Twitter) account, while the core repository itself has not received updates.
Community Questions:
- Is there a specific reason why @RalfHacker is not reviewing or merging these PRs ?
- Why is the project's Stub closed-source when we can develop it into something more advanced and open-source ?
The work done on AdaptixC2 is appreciated by the community, but the current lack of activity on the core framework is raising questions regarding the project's maintenance status and future direction.
