Before I discuss the issues that I’ve observed, I’d like to thank AndreyPavlenko for this great video player.
I upgraded my Fermata Player from v1.96 to v2.00; the phone is an Android 12 device that I bought four years ago for use in my car. When launching the app, the new and beautifully redesigned GUI is particularly striking.
Regarding the bugs:
-
VLC as media engine: When this option is selected as both player and engine, regular audio interruptions occur
1a. This behavior is noticeable when using Android Auto or during direct video playback with Bluetooth speakers
1b. The problem can be temporarily resolved by rwd or fwd skipping the song
1c. The problem disappears completely when Exo is activated as both player and engine (unfortunately, the Exo player does not play certain vid formats as flv)
-
Folder view: When Android Auto starts and you launch the Fermata player while a video is playing, the Fermata player window appears as shown in the figure; clicking the icon of the currently playing video does not switch to full-screen video playback. This was the behavior in v1.96.
2a. Clicking on the previous or next video displays the full-screen playback view
