Improve Login/Register Page UX and Branding

Description

The login and register pages currently have poor user experience and minimal visual branding.

Issues

• Email and password fields are prefilled with random text instead of using placeholders.
• Users must manually clear the inputs before entering their own credentials.
• Login and register pages appear visually blank.
• No application name, logo, or branding is displayed on authentication pages.

Expected Improvements

• Replace prefilled input values with proper placeholder text.
• Add application branding such as logo and app name.

Expected Outcome

• Smoother login and signup experience.
• Cleaner and more professional UI.

Hi @Areeb-coder , I would love to work on this issue under GSSoC'26. This bug involves improving the login and register page user experience by replacing prefilled dummy text in the email and password input fields with proper placeholder text, preventing users from manually clearing the inputs before typing. Additionally, the authentication pages currently appear visually blank and lack application branding, so adding the website name, logo, and a more structured layout would create a cleaner and more professional user experience. Could you please assign this issue to me?

"Hey! I am a GSSoC 2026 contributor and I'd love to polish the Login and Register pages. Currently, the hardcoded input values are causing unnecessary UX friction. I plan to swap those for proper placeholders and add a dedicated Branding component (App Name/Logo) to give the entrance of the app a more premium feel.

Since the project uses Next.js 16 and Tailwind 4, I’ll ensure the implementation is lightweight and follows the project's existing architecture. Please assign this to me! I can have a PR ready within 24 hours.

I’ve assigned you both to this issue! Since you are both eager to work on the authentication experience, I’d like you to collaborate on this.

In addition to the UI/UX branding improvements mentioned in the description, I’d like to expand the scope to include OAuth Authentication. Please implement a "Continue with Google" and "Continue with Facebook" feature to allow users to sign in directly without a password. This will significantly reduce friction and help with user engagement.

Suggested Division of Work:

UI/UX & Branding: Focusing on the layout, placeholders, and adding the app logo/name (as discussed).

OAuth Integration: Setting up the Google and Facebook authentication flow using NextAuth/Auth.js (since we are on Next.js 16).

Branch Name for this task: feat/auth-branding-oauth

Please coordinate with each other here or on Discord to decide who handles which part. Looking forward to a great collaborative PR!
