Update Snapcast server

Hello could you update the snapcast server on the lates version?

i'm currently not able ro start the Container in HA anymore.
So thought updating to the newest version might be a good idea ->

I think there is currently a problem with librespot using Spotify.

Hi 👋,

The addon-snapserver currently fails to build because the Dockerfile pins:

snapcast-server=0.31.0-r0

But Alpine no longer provides that version. Only newer ones (e.g. 0.32.2-r0) exist.

Build error:
ERROR: unable to select packages:
snapcast-server-0.32.2-r0:
breaks: world[snapcast-server=0.31.0-r0]

Would you please update the Dockerfile (for example, by dropping the strict version pin or bumping it to the latest available)? This would restore compatibility with Alpine’s repos.

librespot and the snapcast server is outdated, I forked it and edited the docker file and it works. By deleting the exact version it takes the latest. And spotify connect works better with librespot=0.7.1-1

Thanks, I already tried this solution as a local add-on, but something still doesn't work for me, I don't know why. I'm using a Raspberry Pi as a snapclient connected to this snapserver. With librespot=0.6.0-r0 I can't connect Spotify to Raspberry Pi and with the new version librespot=0.7.1-1 neither Spotify nor Music Assistant Server works. 2 months ago it was working perfectly.

i've got also problems with Music assistant to connect to snapcast. Directly from spotify to the snapcast server and clients working. Volume control in HA is working good

Can i ask you on what devices are you using Snapcast Client? I have an raspberry pi connected to my audio system.

I run Snapserver on Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 5. My Snapcast clients are Raspberry Pi Zero W with DAC HAT connected to a stereo in my bedroom, Windows PCs (home theater and office stereo), and my Android phone (Bluetooth speaker in my bathroom).

Success, now Spotify and Music Assistant can stream again. Today I tried reinstalling Snapcast with the settings given by Karmusch and it worked. I think the updates from Music Assistant and HA helped too.

This is definitely the solution but it should be mentioned that to make these changes to the "Dockerfile" file, users must download the "snapserver" folder from the repository to the "addons" folder on Home Assistant and it will appear in the Add-on store as Local add-ons.

Same as last time — because we didn’t specify a particular version of librespot when we modified the script, it will download the latest available version everytime.

same as before. Thx for the right version, I added the 0.8.0 version to librespot
reinstall home assistant server and reboot it.
