Problem Statement

I cannot point to or open my existing project folder.

Feature Idea

Please add a feature that allows Atomic Chat to select or open a project located in the user’s directory, and make it compatible with Opencode and GitHub CLI.

For example:
D:\Project Folder\Project 1
E:\Project Folder\

working with local folders - love it, we'll add it to our list
on the agents part - do you mean you'd want to connect and use an agent right inside atomic chat?

and btw how do you use atomic chat? would help us a lot to know your workflow

+1 for this. I run local models (Qwen 3.6 35B, Gemma 4) through atomic-llama-cpp-turboquant and use Atomic Chat as my frontend. That turboquant fork has been a huge help, the KV cache compression and speculative decoding really make large models usable on consumer hardware. Right now though, if I want to actually work on a project, I have to open GitHub CLI or Opencode or VS Code separately outside of Atomic Chat, then manually copy-paste stuff back and forth. It works, but it's clunky.

It would be awesome to have something like an "Editor Mode" built directly into Atomic Chat where you can pick a project folder, see the file tree, and reference or edit files without leaving the app. Basically bring what I'm already doing externally into one place.

Even a simple starting point would go a long way:

• Folder picker to set a workspace
• File tree sidebar
• Ability to attach or reference project files in conversations

That would turn Atomic Chat from a chat interface into a real local coding assistant. The pieces are already there (local LLM support, atomic-llama-cpp-turboquant, GitHub/Opencode integration, MCP, provider) just needs to be unified inside the app.
