Description
When running a VM using CloakBox, the mouse works only when the pointing device is set to USB Tablet, but the keyboard is never detected under any configuration. This prevents completing OS installation or interacting with the guest environment.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new VM using CloakBox.
- Boot any ISO (tested with Windows 10).
- Try interacting with the installer using keyboard + mouse.
- Switch pointing device between PS/2, USB Tablet, and Multi‑Touch.
- Observe that only the mouse works (in Tablet mode), while the keyboard never registers input.
Expected Behavior
Both keyboard and mouse should be detected by the guest OS so installation and normal interaction are possible.
Actual Behavior
• Mouse works only in USB Tablet mode.
• Keyboard is not detected at all.
• VirtualBox logs show:
Environment
• CloakBox version: (your version here)
• Host OS: Windows 11 Pro (build 26200)
• CPU: AMD (with AMD‑V enabled)
• Secure Boot: Enabled
• Extension Pack: Not installed
• VM Firmware: UEFI
• USB Controller tested: 1.1 / 2.0 / 3.0
• Pointing devices tested: PS/2, USB Tablet, Multi‑Touch
Additional Notes
• Standard VirtualBox builds normally attach a virtual PS/2 keyboard during Windows Setup.
• CloakBox appears to override HID devices with spoofed identifiers, which may cause the guest OS to reject the virtual keyboard.
• The issue occurs before the OS loads any drivers, suggesting a hypervisor‑level HID attachment failure.
