Yet another "Disc Can't be Read" thread

• Memory Cards: First attempt, removed for later attempts if failure to read
• Controller disconnected and reconnected after first attempt
• ISO: [PREBUILT ISOs/All PS2 Slims - English language.iso]
• English Language
• All DVD-R and DVD+R were clean and straight out of the package

• Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind (2005) [Would not read 0/10] {DVD-9}
• Starship Troopers (1998) [Read 5/10] {DVD-10}
• Starship Troopers 2 (2004) [Read] {DVD-9}
• Return to Silent Hill (2026) [Ironically, Read] {Unknown}
• Tremors Collection [Read] {Unknown}
• Tremors A Cold Day in Hell [Read 2/10 times] {Unknown}

Games Tested: [All Read]

• Valkyrie Profile 2
• MGS3
• FFXII
• Rogue Trooper

PC DVD Optical drives used for DVD burning:
(All write speeds were forced to 1x, or in the case of IMGburn slowest speed it could have)

• HP dvd1270

• LG WH16NS40

• Verbatim DVD+R 16x (5 copies, Two with IMGburn and three with CDburnerXP) [Would not read, final test resulted in a 0/15]

• Maxwell DVD-R 16x (4 copies, Two with IMGburn and Two with CDburnerXP) [Would not read 0/20 each]

Maybe my break down can help find out where something is going wrong. Otherwise I guess my PS2 does whatever it wants with a bipolar laser. Will read one disc all day long, read others half the time, 20% of the time, or never. Maybe the discs being rated for 16x even though I burnt them at 1x? No idea.
