Does this project support using Guid as the user ID?

This project looks like it's exactly what I need, but I plan to use IdentityUser and wanted to know if it supports using a Guid instead of a string. I noticed in your examples you're always specifying a string, so not sure if there was a reason for that.

Ok, if that is the case, you can use Guids for sure and that is what the default. Cosmos wants to store Guids as strings (see table below). But this doesn't mean you can't use GUIDs as User IDs.

When an IdentityUser is constructed, it by default uses a GUID for a new user ID. Check out the source code for IdentityUser. This is from the ASP.NET Identity code. Look at line 21 of that code. Note here it converts the Guid to a string. If you want to change the model, see this documentation.

If you aren't using the ASP.NET Identity UI, you can set the Guid yourself like this example. Look at line 458.

With regards to general support for Guids, here is a table generated with the help from AI that describes the level of support for GUIDs by Cosmos and other databases.

Regarding the examples using strings: It has been a while since I wrote the examples. I think at the time this packaged converted everything to strings in an earlier version. Guids are stored as strings in Cosmos (see below). Internally that is what is happening.
