How does this gem relate to buildstep?

I'm little confused how this gem relates to pretty popular buildstep: https://github.com/progrium/buildstep

Could you compare building and buildstep?

Hi Adam,

Buildstep was the inspiration for building, but buildstep is really intended as a plumbing tool for Dokku whereas building is intended as a tool for everyday developers to use as part of their development workflow.

When you are using buildstep, you need to pass tarbals of your app around. This is convenient if you are scp'ing files around (like in Dokku), but not convenient if you just want to build a container on your local machine.

With building, the entire workflow is: building myapp

No tar. No pipes. No hassle. Under the cover, you end up with the same product. Building also has flags for adding buildpacks without modifying the buildstep source code.

Building started so you wouldn't have to remember or create an alias for tar cC /path/to/your/app . | /path/to/buildstep myapp

But the added flags and ability to select your base container have made it much more. Does that help?
