Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

At Codeunia, we believe in the transformative power of community, collaboration, and respect.
We are committed to making every interaction in our community a positive, uplifting, and empowering experience for everyone—no matter their background, identity, or level of experience.

We pledge to create an environment where every member feels welcomed, valued, heard, and safe to contribute their unique perspectives.


Our Values

We strive to embody these values in all our interactions:

  • Empathy & Kindness: Support and uplift one another.
    Listen first, respond thoughtfully, and celebrate each other’s successes.
  • Respect for All: Embrace and honor differences of opinion, background, and experience.

Unacceptable Behavior

We do not tolerate behavior that works against these values. Examples of unacceptable conduct include:

  • Sexualized language, imagery, attention, or advances
  • Trolling, insults, derogatory comments, or personal/political attacks
  • Public or private harassment of any kind
  • Publishing others’ private information without explicit permission
  • Any actions that could reasonably be regarded as inappropriate or unprofessional

Where This Applies

This Code of Conduct applies in all community spaces—online and offline—and whenever you are representing Codeunia in any capacity (e.g., email, social media, events).


Enforcement & Accountability

Community leaders are entrusted to uphold these standards and will take fair, prompt action when they observe or receive reports of behavior that violates our values.

They may remove, edit, or reject contributions (comments, code, wiki edits, issues, etc.) that do not align with this Code, and will communicate moderation decisions as appropriate.


Consequences for Violations

We follow these guidelines when addressing Code of Conduct violations:

1. Correction

  • Impact: Minor, unintentional missteps or inappropriate language/behavior.
  • Consequence: Private, written warning with clarity on the issue and guidance for improvement. A public apology may be requested.

2. Warning

  • Impact: A single incident or pattern of concerning behavior.
  • Consequence: Formal warning with clear expectations for future conduct. The individual may be asked to refrain from contact with involved parties for a set period. Further violations may result in stronger action.

3. Temporary Ban

  • Impact: Serious or repeated breaches of community standards.
  • Consequence: Temporary removal from the community. No interaction with the community or affected individuals (public or private) for a defined period. Additional violations may lead to a permanent ban.

4. Permanent Ban

  • Impact: Sustained harmful conduct, repeated harassment, or aggression toward individuals or groups.
  • Consequence: Permanent exclusion from all Codeunia spaces.

Reporting

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to our leadership team at connect@codeunia.com.
All reports will be handled with care, confidentiality, and respect.


Attribution

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, and inspired by Mozilla’s code of conduct enforcement ladder.
