Description
DISCLAIMER - This is just a pitch and not indicative of any actual plans to rework the characters in any way. The idea of reworking the vanilla cast has been discussed but none of this is set in stone and I intend to make this just to incite a discussion and move toward and more tangible plan on what a rework may actually be like further down the line. That being said, please leave feedback and provide any ideas you may have, this Issue can serve as a sort of "Canvas" and be edited freely as we agree on ideas. I've only listed the First 3 vanilla characters for simplicity's sake but you are more than welcome to throw in ideas for Amy, Fang and Metal Sonic if you have any.
BM vanilla reworks pitch - CyanKnight
Sonic - Remove Super spin jump and Ground pound Replace with:
Sonic Wave(ground) - Sonic Revs a spindash and launches a Long lasting high speed ground based projectile along the floor, it can only be stopped by colliding with players or solid surface
Blue Tornado(air) - Similar to how it works in sonic heroes Sonic homes into an enemy's general position and begins to spin around them, after a while sonic conjures a tornado that sweeps away any player caught in the center. If you move while sonic is channeling he will try to track you but the tornado will be spawned in the last place you were in right before the actual move finished.
Sonic Drive - after gaining speed Sonic enters a dash mode-esque state that modifies his thok slightly, If you thok while in Sonic Drive he will leave behind a turbulance that increases ally speed and tumbles enemies who collide with it, If sonic hits an enemy with a thok directly while in Sonic Drive he applies much more bumpstun than normal allowing for him to follow up in turn.
Tails - Tailswipe is modified to work in tiers, Aerial dash becomes Mach Tornado
Tailswipe - Now can be charged and strength and start up is dependant on charge time
tier 1 - slightly disjointed melee hurtbox that has a heavy start up and tumbles on being parried
tier 2 - Less initial start up and shoots a disjointed wind projectile that goes slightly further, projectile does not tumble when parried but will still tumble tails if parried up close
Mach Tornado - While Flying Tails begins spinning like a tornado sucking in nearby players, Tails has a 2,1 hitbox during this state and is a lot slower to compensate.
Knuckles - Dig and Rockblast are replaced with:
Eruption Punch: Knuckles reels back and readies a devastating explosive punch with obscene knockback. If the move hits knuckles has less endlag, if it misses knuckles has a longer endlag. This move can be used while jumping but not gliding
Volcanic Slam: Knuckles Does a drill dive to which he can cancel the ability into a glide or allow it to hit the ground for a devastating AOE attack that sends fire balls and rocks around the area he landed and causes the ground to become unstable and slow enemies caught in it
