No longer controlling light

I have my unit connected to HA via ESPHome, and I can access the web page and see it in entities. However, it is no longer controlling the light. It says connected and is passing commands, but nothing is happening. It was working previously. Any suggestions?

Running ESPHome 2025.11.5. The package fails to compile due to breaking API changes in the select component. Three specific issues:

.state is deprecated — id(mac_select).state and select->state need to be replaced with current_option()
set_options() no longer accepts std::vectorstd::string — Lines 83 and 253 call select->traits.set_options(options) where options is a std::vectorstd::string. The new API only accepts const std::initializer_list<const char*> or const esphome::FixedVector<const char*>
get_options() returns a non-copyable FixedVector — Line 137 tries to copy the result of get_options() into a new variable, but FixedVector has its copy constructor deleted. Line 138 then tries to push_back a std::string into it, which also fails since it expects const char*

Thank you for the report. Do you think you can create a pull request for the API changes?

In regards to the original issue (stopped controlling light), did you make any additional changes to address that issue or only the API update? Had you tried power cycling the light and/or controller before flashing with the updated firmware?

The API update fixed the compile errors. For the light control issue, yes I had tried power cycling the light and controller before flashing the updated firmware with no success. After flashing the updated firmware, I hit the Reset button on the device, power cycled the light, then re-paired using 'Pair with closest device' and it worked. So it appears the API update combined with a fresh re-pair after flashing resolved both issues
