1. Boot a NovaCustom laptop powered via USB-PD
2. Initiate a firmware update with EC sync
3. Observe EC firmware update fail during AC adapter check

Expected behavior

EC firmware update completes successfully when the device is powered via USB-PD

Actual behavior

The reboot resets the USB-PD controller; it does not come back up in time for the EC update's AC adapter check,
causing the update to fail

Additional context

Current workaround is to use a barrel jack power supply during the update. A potential fix would be to add a
short delay (a few seconds) and retry the AC adapter check if the first attempt fails.
