Consider moving repo to DazzleML if scope shifts to AI-first #4

Summary

Consider moving this repository from DazzleTools to DazzleML if the project's identity shifts toward AI-powered file organization.

Context

Currently notepad-cleanup is a system utility that happens to use AI for its organize step — the core value is extracting text from Notepad windows. This fits DazzleTools alongside wingather, discord-cleanup, preserve, etc.

However, if the project evolves toward:

  • Organizing random directories of notes (not just Notepad extractions)
  • Managing files across different software tools (TextEdit, VS Code scratch files, etc.)
  • General-purpose AI-assisted filesystem organization
  • The AI categorization becoming the primary feature rather than the extraction

...then DazzleML would be a better home, alongside claude-session-logger, find-best-images, and other AI-focused tools.

Decision Criteria

Stay in DazzleTools if: The tool remains primarily about extracting text from specific applications, with AI as an optional convenience feature.

Move to DazzleML if: The AI organization becomes the core identity and the tool generalizes beyond Notepad to broader file/directory management.

Notes

  • Moving a GitHub repo between orgs preserves issues, stars, and redirects the old URL
  • Update any CI/CD, badges, and documentation links after moving
  • No action needed now — revisit when scope expands
