removing this left us with unresolved constraints that could be resolved. oh well.

a solution would be another layer in our number types, having a separate kind for [Real Int] and Data. Both kinds have top and bottom, and we could use the trick again :)

i added a few type annotations that would become unneccesary if we did this and also disabled a few tests in commit a8f0bff
if we ever do this we should reenable/deannotate
