Add status badges to README (build, license, release, Go, MCP)

Context

The README lacks status badges. Adding them improves first-impression credibility for visitors evaluating the project.

Acceptance criteria

• CI build status badge (GitHub Actions)
• License badge (Apache 2.0)
• Latest release badge
• Go version badge
• MCP-compatible badge (custom shield)
• Stars / forks badges (optional)
• Badges placed at the top of README, immediately after the project tagline

Notes for first-time contributors

This is a documentation-only change. Use shields.io for the badges. PR welcome from anyone — no deep code knowledge required.
