Duplicated widget rendering bug

Steps to reproduce the bug

Add a "Clock" widget on the home page, and resize it to fill the device width.

Expected behavior

It should be rendered correctly.

Actual behavior

Most of the time, the rendering is correct. But randomly, the widget is rendered twice, or even 3 or 4 times one above the other, with different sizes.

Killing the launcher app solves the issue (until the next time, randomly).

This is not only in the latest version, it already happened in the past. Every time it happens, I just kill the app.

This happen to me too. I installed with F-Droid, latest version, using Vivo 1819 (A15), Android 11.

I'm not sure how to reproduce this bug because it suddenly happened to me after I open my browser & pdf reader.

Happened to me too - custom rom base android 14. One detail I've noticed: when tapping the square button to list open Apps, one space was claimed by an invisible app. Closing this (by swiping it up) returned the widget to it's correct state. Are widgets perhaps implemented as their own windows/apps? It certainly looks like that might turn into a problem.

I'm seeing this, too - version 1.7.0 on Murena /e/ OS 3.3.

I have three widgets on one screen, including one clock widget; apparently, when this behaviour is triggered, all three widgets are duplicated. When I swipe to a different screen, I can see that the correct/intended widgets are moved away with their screen, but the duplicate widgets remain in the background, i.e. they are visible on each screen. They also interfere with the app icons on the screens - I cannot start apps via the icons where a widget overlaps with them.

I see on my device this bug as well - Pixel 9a / 7a with Android 16 and Fossfiy Launcer Beta 1.9.0.

I'm then also not able to interact with the widgets anymore and it only helps to kill the Launcher app. After the kill all widgets are gone then.
