Solution for Chrome's "Insecure download" warning

We would like to share a solution reported by a SeleniumVBA user regarding the "Insecure download blocked" issue.

In some cases, Chrome determines that certain URLs—like internal dev environments or corporate intranets—are not "Secure Connections." Since these security warnings can stall your automation scripts, you need to tell Chrome to trust these origins beforehand.

You can bypass this by adding the following argument:
caps.AddArguments "--unsafely-treat-insecure-origin-as-secure=" & targetUrl

Please note: This setting bypasses standard security protocols. Only use it for trusted internal systems or specific sites where you are certain of the safety.
