Recommended versions of software

Thank you for this piece of software.
I'm struggling on compilation, probably because I don't have a valid combination of gcc and NVcc compilers installed. Can you provide some guidelines to which was the test environment you used, with required libraries and versions?

Worked out finally. Not sure what was wrong: probably the forcing of gcc-8 or something ...
