Yo, I saw your post on Reddit with this and that's how I found the project and I replied saying that I would gift you Forza Horizon 6, but then my reply got removed because apparently that's against the subreddit rules. Hey Hamza,

Great work! I am a bit lost on how to activate the Steam launch options. When I input the command through Steam's launch options, the system is unable to find the uv file.

cmd /c "start /MIN /D C:\Your\Path\To\Forza-Horizon-DualSense-Python\src uv run main.py" && %command%

If I launch with:

"C:\Your\Path\To\Forza-Horizon-DualSense-Python\win_start.bat" %command%

Terminal states the uv is installed but not on PATH

I know I'm missing something rather simple here!

I use “uv,” a package manager for Python, to download the necessary libraries.

This line should be included in the Windows environment variables.
Some users' names may contain special characters, so the PATH variable cannot be set correctly; you will need to correct it manually.

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\.local\bin

Press the Windows Key and type "Environment Variables"
Click on Edit the system environment variables.
Under User variables, find and select the Path variable, then click Edit.
Click New and paste the exact path where uv was installed
(this is usually C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Python\Scripts or C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\.local\bin ).
Click OK on all windows, then write uv in terminal

If you get a response when you type “uv,” the process is complete.

All of this works, but pasting the exact command you have there (replacing my location for the placeholder), I see a command window pop up, disappear, and then the game fails to launch.

Been working with AI to try and sort this out all afternoon but still no luck to get it running, minimized, and game launched at the same time.

Thanks Hamza. No luck yet, but you've taught me a lot about Windows variables today.

I've added the user variable to the uv.exe location, but Windows terminal still alerts me to the uv file not being on path. I added a back slash to the local\bin\ variable path where uv.exe lives and oddly I receive an additional instruction (in bold):

Running as standard user.
Checking latest release...
Up to date (v1.1.9).
uv was not found. Installing from https://astral.sh/uv/ ...
downloading uv 0.11.14 (x86_64-pc-windows-msvc)
installing to C:\Users\XXX.local\bin
uv.exe
uvx.exe
uvw.exe
everything's installed!

**To add C:\Users\XXX.local\bin to your PATH, either restart your shell or run:

set Path=C:\Users\XXX\.local\bin;%Path%   (cmd)
$env:Path = "C:\Users\XXX\.local\bin;$env:Path"   (powershell)**

uv installed but not on PATH. Restart your terminal.

That said, your amazing tool does work if I launch it myself and it's incredibly immersive. Makes the game feel alive. Immensely better than the RacingDSX tool I had used previously! Wow.

One more detail. I did see something about a Powershell "execution policy" that may or may not be related here.

P.S. This is not urgent. Everyone can enjoy this tool without Steam's launch option shortcut working correctly, though I'm sure you are quite passionate. Good job buddy!

P.S.S. I saw that the previous user above was able to purchase a copy of the game for you. Not sure if they got you the Deluxe/VIP version of the game, but I'd love to gift you the DLC car packs if you haven't yet got them, because this is genuinely the best adaptive feedback framework in a racing game I've yet encountered.

I used to install UV on the device on demand. This caused path issues.
The installation location is different when installing as an administrator versus as a standard user.

I’m really glad you were finally able to get the application running.

If you right-click the “bat” file and select “Copy as path,” then add a space and append %command% at the end, it will open alongside FH5. If you encounter any errors, please let me know. I explained in detail how to do it in the README
Since you downloaded this file from the internet and I couldn’t add a Windows license, you may have encountered an “Execution policy” error.
I’ve significantly reduced the use of PowerShell commands in the latest version. Would you mind downloading and running the BAT file from the latest release?

Yes, I added compatibility for xbox users. They have to use additional tools such as ds4. That's why I wanted them not to be deprived of this pleasure.

Also, some users were having difficulty installing or you couldn't install older versions, I switched to something simpler.
