Some races gain resistance to a damage type from the get go. Could you add a section to the builder to add that flag as part of it? IE similar to your Senses, Movement, and Proficiencies sections. Add a Resistance section where players could select from a drop down, the resistance(s) their character would get. This would save a step of the player/dm having to edit that section manually after the character is made.
