404 on documentation page and CSV for 2020ATB_NREL_Reference_18MW_263

Description

The documentation page and CSV file for the 2020 ATB NREL Reference 18MW turbine are returning 404 errors and cannot be accessed.

Steps to reproduce issue

1. Navigate to https://nrel.github.io/turbine-models/2020ATB_NREL_Reference_18MW_263.html
2. Attempt to access the raw CSV at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/NREL/turbine-models/master/Offshore/2020ATB_NREL_Reference_18MW_263.csv

Current behavior

Both URLs return 404 errors. The turbine does appear in the index listing at https://nrel.github.io/turbine-models/ and is referenced in other NREL publications and forum posts, so the broken links are causing confusion for users trying to retrieve the turbine parameters.

Expected behavior

The documentation page and CSV file should be accessible, consistent with other turbines in the archive (e.g., IEA_15MW_240_RWT, 2020ATB_NREL_Reference_15MW_240).

You can find the correct URLs from:

That is a different repository and effort from this reference turbine (this is IEA, that is NLR, formerly NREL). NREL was renamed the National Lab of Rockies in the past few months, including a rename of its Github organization, and while Github does a good job with URL forwarding, there are some broken links that still need to be fixed.

I'm a little bit confused since the original source of the error is unlinked, is this an issue with this library, or the turbine-models library? I get the sense this is both. As @gbarter indicated, any NREL GitHub link should replace "NREL" with "NatLabRockies", though GitHub does a good job at redirecting. However GitHub Pages does not offer redirects, so "nrel.github.io" will need to be replaced with "natlabrockies.github.io". Additionally, the reference to the "master" branch is significantly outdated, so I suspect the primary issue is with this library's documentation being outdated.

@saverygomm, could you point me to where in this library the references are coming from, and I or someone else could submit a PR with corrected links. I can also update the turbine-models references in that model's documentation site since the folder reorganization didn't translate well to documentation updates, and reference this issue. Just note the NREL references will have to be changed to NLR in that documentation as well.

@RHammond2 - Old published Tech Reports, such as the 2020 ATB, will always continue to have the old URLs. I don't think the Lab will attempt to edit those. As you pointed out, I think the lack of forwarding at github.io was the issue here.

Thanks @RHammond2 @gbarter @elenya-grant — this is exactly what I needed.

Some context on how I got here: a few months ago I came across a website with nicely compiled 15MW and 18MW (scaled) turbine parameters, but I recently couldn't locate it again. For context, I'm pulling these parameters for a collision risk model, so having both the 15MW and 18MW specs accessible is helpful.

In searching, I found this forum post (https://forums.nlr.gov/t/modelling-an-18mw-turbine-with-openfast/6707) which referenced the link I was looking for — but it was broken.

The advice to swap nrel for natlabrockies solved it. This now works:

However, please note that the csvs that are linked on that page do not work (at least for the 15MW turbine) does not work.
