Design a smartwatch interface that feels natural, intuitive, and glanceable on a wrist-worn device.
Because smartwatches have extremely limited screen space, the challenge is to create a clean, minimalist, and highly functional UI that supports quick interactions.
Your task is to design a small but complete application flow that includes:
-A primary home/dashboard screen
-A notifications view
-At least one interactive screen (e.g., activity stats, alarms, messages, heart-rate, etc.)
You are NOT expected to design dozens of screens — just enough to demonstrate:
-Strong layout decisions
-Smart use of visual hierarchy
-Wrist-friendly navigation
-Intuitive interactions (touch/voice gestures)
This challenge focuses on UX clarity, not quantity.
🧩 Requirements
Create a minimalist, readable smartwatch UI suitable for a round or square watch face.
Include:
-Home/summary screen (key metrics or main functions)
-Notifications screen (one or two examples)
-One interactive flow (such as dismissing a notification, toggling a timer, or viewing step data)
-Use touch gestures and/or voice cues (visual indicators are enough; no real code).
Prioritize:
-Glanceability (info must be readable in < 2 seconds)
-Legible typography
-High color contrast
-Large touch targets
-Clean iconography
Provide mockups in Figma/Adobe XD.
Minimal number of screens expected: 3–5 screens total.
📋 Tasks / Checklist
-Define the watch type (round or square).
-Create a home/dashboard screen with 1–3 core data points.
-Design a notifications layout (one or more sample notifications).
-Add at least one interactive screen (e.g., start timer, view step count, reply with preset text).
-Create gesture indicators (swipe up/down, tap, long press, or voice command cue).
-Apply clean, minimalist styling with consistent spacing and typography.
-Ensure high readability on a tiny screen.
Export or link a Figma/XD mockup.
🎯 Acceptance Criteria
-Includes a coherent mini-app of 3–5 smartwatch screens.
-Layout is optimized for fast glancing with clear hierarchy.
-Screens use large, readable typography and simplified iconography.
-Gestures are visually communicated (e.g., arrows, tap circles, voice icon).
-Color palette and contrast ensure legibility on small displays.
-Navigation between screens feels natural for smartwatch UX.
-Designs are clean, minimal, and not visually cluttered.
Submission includes a Figma/XD link for judges to review.
