Apparently, Interactive Brokers developers have made the decision to disable copy & pasting passwords into the password box in beta versions, which will force users into a security dilemma and to use simple and easy to type passwords.

I'd like to fill in the TWS username and password using the MacOS Keychain. This wouldn't be 'automatic' 2FA, but API assisted 2FA.

Ok, first, it seems that IBKR's decision might be rescinded - apparently the latest TWS beta restores the ability to paste into the password field, though I haven't verified this mysself. So maybe you should just sit tight for the moment and wait to ses what happens.

Next, can I ask why you don't just use IBC in its current form, rather than embark on an enhancement that might not provide much additional benefit? It wouild save you a lot of time and effort.

@rlktradewright glad to hear they changed their minds. I agree, if they allow pasting the password, I don't think I'll go through the additional effort.
