According to @IgnorantGuru's blog posts:

I will be beginning a hiatus from my public projects shortly, which means those projects will be suspended indefinitely, including development on SpaceFM and udevil, updates to this blog, and other little works. Suspended means all motion will stop, but most sites I maintain should remain accessible and unchanged. The duration of this hiatus is undefined. This may morph into a retirement...

I would appreciate it if other community contributors could continue development in this git repo, as this will save us from trivial work like renaming etc. But considering the author @IgnorantGuru had ceased GitHub activity 7+ years ago, this is not likely to be possible, and IMO it's time now to create a new fork.

I'm more of a udevil user, not its developer or maintainer. However, after 10 years of the udevil development suspension, neither were better alternatives introduced, nor was any udevil fork created. Therefore I created the fork udevil-ng, and start merging pull requests and solving open issues at a slow pace.

Thanks a lot. Udevil is great. It's the only tool that can save me from the bloated and insecure GVFS. I also use udevil built-in devmon with udisks2 to easily mount/unmount with devmon --unmount-recent. It's great.
