Casing and wiring

Hi,

This sounds like a very cool project.
Have you used/3D printed any casing for this device? I'm happy to pay for a design.
Also, what wiring do you use exactly to connect everything?

I haven’t designed or 3D printed a dedicated enclosure yet.
So far I’ve been using a pretty simple setup for testing and development. connect everything with cable on matrix board.

I’m currently working on designing a proper PCB and casing. It’s still in progress, and since I’m working on this in my spare time, I don’t have a clear timeline yet.

BTW, what roaster are you using the device with? I was able to build it but I have an air roaster that I might need to switch to a larger thermocouple to make it work

I can take this on as a paid first pass if you still want a casing/wiring package.

I checked the current repo hardware list and wiring table: NodeMCU ESP8266 or ESP32C3 Super Mini, 128x64 SSD1306 OLED, two MAX6675 modules, ET/BT K-type probes, shared SCK/SO, and separate CS pins.

For USD 35 I can deliver:

• a printable parametric OpenSCAD enclosure layout for one board choice, with OLED window, MAX6675 module mounts, cable exits/strain relief, and USB access
• a wiring map matching the repo pin table, with a short assembly/checklist
• one revision after you confirm the board and connector measurements

I put together a concrete first-pass proof package here:

It includes:

• parametric OpenSCAD tray/lid starter for ESP32C3 Super Mini or NodeMCU builds
• OLED window, USB access, MAX6675 placement, thermocouple exits, and cable-tie strain relief
• wiring map for both supported controller options using the current Croaster README / PinConfig.h
• pre-print measurement checklist so the final STL does not depend on guessed board variants

Validation limit: OpenSCAD is not installed in my current environment, so this is a source-level CAD starter plus wiring package, not a final exported STL. I can turn it into a print-ready revision after you confirm controller board, OLED PCB, MAX6675 board/socket dimensions, and preferred probe exit side.
