[REQUEST] Add the vanilla icon descent 3

Hi Insanity, I hope you are doing very well.

I've made an upscale of the vanilla icon of Descent 3, look:

Original 32x32 descen3 icon (perfect 600% scaled):

New 320x320 vanilla descent 3 (taken from the intro FMV)

It look very nice, and we can see Pyro GX ship death (😥) adding more detail to the icon:

Would it be possible to add this icon to your next release?
It will be very very nice I think (and for most of the people)

It's deliberate that Piccu Engine uses an icon with very different color temperature, to avoid confusion with the official 1.5 release, so I'm not sure I'll change it.

Hmm... Maybe, create another icon instead of changing it? Some gamers want to use the red one.

dont change the PiccuEngine icon, is beautiful, only I want if you can add this icon in the .zip package or into the .exe but maintaining the PiccuEngine icon as the main default icon.
In this way we can chose between PiccuEngine icon and HD vanilla icon.

I also don't think the PiccuEngine icon should be changed to one that resembles the original to keep the projects more separate, but at the same time I don't think the other branch of Descent 3 is even playable compared to PiccuEngine at the moment. When projects diverge, there will always be a "best" version, and currently PiccuEngine is that. Using the "-framecap" parameter to set max FPS to 144 and it actually hitting that target can't be beat. The other Descent 3 project still has a 20 FPS cap on menus, struggles with keeping good framerates in videos and rendering outside geometry (sinks as low as 12 FPS and I have a RTX 5070 Ti). But all of this is besides the point.

The main reason I am making this post is to share a way for users to replace the icon if they so desire. I have converted the JPEG from the original post to icon format with multiple internal sizes. Even though the icon was posted before, my version of the icon has a few more stages for zooming in and out. If you want to replace the icon, here is the process:

1.) Download Resource Hacker from the bottom of this page (I prefer the ZIP version).
2.) Download the icon from my Mediafire account.
3.) Unzip Resource Hacker and open it up.
4.) Navigate to the Descent 3 PiccuEngine installation folder.
5.) Drag and drop PiccuEngine.exe onto the Resource Hacker window.
6.) Open the Icon Group folder in the navigation pane.
7.) Right click IDI_APPICON : 1033 and select Replace Icon, -or- select it and press Control + R.
8.) Click Open file with new icon... and select the icon downloaded in Step 2 and click Replace.
9.) Repeat steps 7 and 8 for IDI_APPCIONSMALL : 1033.
10:) Save the executable by pressing the disk button, -or- going to File > Save, -or- Control + S.

The original PiccuEngine.exe will automatically be backed up as PiccuEngine_original.exe. Resource Hacker is a great tool for replacing icons for just about anything. I have yet to find an application where replacing the icon breaks it in some way. I am only sharing this method because I doubt and agree that PiccuEngine shouldn't change the icon. But no sense in letting someone's work go to waste for those who do want to use it.

I've a lot of old icons remaded by my

Always I liked to maintain the og from old icons

With exception:

• forsaken, the og icon are very ugly compared with Forsaken Heart original art.
• pod I can't get the og art sources, but the new one maded by me looks great.

i know still some of my hd icons can be improved, little here little there.
but all they looks very satisfying to enjoy on the owners desktops.
anyway, i can share my work, but i think this is not the right place.
