Yes, in fact I went through this, but nothing appears in the connections page after setting up a socks5:

You are missing thr network extension, check the readme for network extension installation part

Thanks for following up. Again, I checked the installation section and the extension part, it is mentioned, "Grant System Extension permissions when prompted", but it's never prompted, also I checked the path in settings which is mentioned:

Note: ProxyBridge requires system extension permissions. You need to allow the extension in System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Network Extension on first launch.
