Currently JADE allows Gauss broadening only, eventually with energy dependent FWHM. Broadening TOF or energy spectra with arbitrary function is going to be useful for many experiments (OKTAVIAN, FNS, IPPE).
It is particularly useful for IPPE DT TOF experiments, since it is recommended to apply the source spectrum in time domain at the DT peak, while at lower energies the source spectrum would be scaled by a linear factor (~ E/Eref where Eref is the energy at the peak maximum (14.86 MeV in the case considered) or a gauss function.
More details in references on broadening (available in restricted F4E sharepoint), reports ippe conrad and indc.
