Hello,

Unfortunately I have been trouble creating a new JBEI Public Registry account. Another group in Korea was also having the same issue. Additionally, I was having issues using the forgot password function.

Hi Nathan, I hope you've been doing well! Thank you for looking into it. The forgot password thing might be my fault, I don't remember if I had a public account or not (I thought I did?). My password manager had "luisvalencia" saved as a username for the public registry. I kept getting the error below even with different possible usernames, which is when I decided to try to make a new account (I figured maybe I never actually made a public registry account). Hi Luis, It looks to us like the forgot password and the create new accounts are working as expected. Note that you will not be able to re-create an account that already exists. Maybe that happened. On the password reset - please for your username put in the email address you created the account with. Nathan

Hi Nathan, Thank you and sorry for the confusion. I was able to reset the password for my old accounts by adding the domain! And yes, it seems I couldn't make a new account because those emails had been used before. I'm not sure why it didn't work for the group in Korea (they got the same error I got). Perhaps they also had used their email previously. I'll follow up with them with these findings. Thank you! Luis
