FAQ: add VPN functionality with DNS Blocker

Hey there,

the other method I knew had a very tricky way to add a VPN becouse as soon as you would turn on the VPN the DNS Blocker would no longer work and blacklist the cert.

Maybe you could explain if there are any implications to adding a VPN while using your method??

I've been trying to figure this out myself as well. Unfortunately I haven't found a good method yet.

I exported my VPN's Wireguard configuration to try to circumvent this. Wireguard on iOS allows you to choose a custom DNS for any VPN configuration. However, when I changed the DNS configuration to https://0.0.0.0/dns-query (which is the same DNS as the one used by the profile that this website makes you download), the VPN stopped working entirely. No apps stopped working.

As a result, I'm still looking for a valid way to add my VPN. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I believe Apple silently implemented some method to detect revoked certificates, as now many people using Anti-revoke DNS that worked for months, are now getting their apps revoked. I don't currently own an iPhone, so I can't really test.
