Contributing to Project 2029

Thank you for your interest in contributing to this policy framework.

Ways to Contribute

  • Research: Add citations, statistics, and legal authorities to existing chapters
  • Writing: Expand stub chapters (see TABLE_OF_CONTENTS.md for status)
  • Editing: Improve clarity, fix typos, strengthen arguments
  • Fact-checking: Verify statute numbers, case citations, and statistics

Before You Start

  1. Read CLAUDE.md for project context and writing conventions
  2. Review TABLE_OF_CONTENTS.md to understand what exists and what needs work
  3. Study Section3_The_General_Welfare/Chapter_13_Environmental_Protection_Agency.md as the template

Contribution Process

  1. Fork the repository
  2. Create a feature branch: feature/chapter-XX-topic
  3. Follow the chapter template structure in CLAUDE.md
  4. Ensure every policy claim cites a legal authority (statute, CFR, SCOTUS case)
  5. Open a pull request with a clear description of what you added or changed

Writing Standards

  • Tone: serious, prosecutorial, evidence-based — no hedging, no passive voice
  • Every claim needs a source
  • No emojis in chapter content
  • Use ## for major sections, ### for subsections
  • Target 500–1,500 lines (4,000–12,000 words) per chapter
