Hi all, following up from our 1st steering council meeting, here is a first crack at instructions for applying for FLOSS/fund. We've added FITSFiles.jl as a template that other repo owners can build off of. The steps seem fairly straightforward:
- Add an entry to the
projects field of our funding.json file. Suggested tags are listed here.
- Add this file to the toplevel of your repo. This establishes provenance for org-wide funding.
The full spec is here and our organization listing here. Any comments or suggestions for improvements welcome!
Open questions / follow-up items
- Do we have prior funding that should be included here?
- If so, do we have an established way to collect funds? The ideal would be to use something like GitHub Sponsors or Every.org if we ever become a NumFOCUS project, but just wanted to check if we have something in place already first.
