What is the purpose of the Google API dependency?

I'm blocked on the environment setup at the step which requires a Google project to be setup in order to use @zero/mail. I'm getting rejected by Google when setting up OAuth configuration. Why is Google's a dependency at all? Can I just run @zero/mail locally instead of requiring that I setup a Google project with authentication capabilities?

I'm not sure what you mean by getting rejected when setting up OAuth configuration? assuming you're trying to verify the app.

For whatever reason Google was rejecting me request to setup the OAuth portion for my project. I was able to get it to work.
