Gizmo mode moves target cloud instead of source (counter-intuitive behavior) #367

Description

In Gizmo mode, the target cloud is being moved, which feels counter-intuitive.
The typical expectation is that we move the source to align to a fixed target.

Example in this video (starting at 4:13):
https://youtu.be/6SNvrZ2ROKg?si=nPGySeb66KEnjlPa&t=253

In this case:

  • Source cloud: 550 (purple)
  • Target cloud: 323 (green)

However, in Gizmo mode the green (target) cloud is moved, while the purple source remains fixed.

Since the goal is to align source → target, it would be more intuitive if:

  • target stays still
  • gizmo transforms the source cloud

Proposal (for discussion)

Consider swapping Gizmo behavior so that:

  • target remains fixed
  • source cloud is transformed

Notes

I don’t have bandwidth to address this right now due to other priorities.
