Request to save file formats in lower case for Unix compatibility

NI currently derives filename case from the file itself (if located in override, etc.) or the CHITIN.KEY definition (for biffed resources).

Wouldn't a forced lower-cased filename cause additional issues?

Currently the behavior is that when you save a file and you don't specify the file extension as lower case it defaults to upper case. It would be nice if it defaulted to lower case as then it makes those files automatically Unix compatible instead of having to rename it every time. If there is an issue with lower case causing issues and it requires you to manually override and rename it, then it's not worth it.

Ah yes, file extension is currently added in upper case for biffed resources. I could probably add an option for that in the preferences.
