Special notes:
There are right now two versions:

• 2.21.13, which is old and not updated anymore I think
• 4.0.0-SNAPSHOT, which is a complete rewrite and getting active developer updates

I would like to potentially see both (or really any of the two) available as a working nix package.

There is also 3.x version which was written and released on https://github.com/Col-E/recaf-3x-issues/releases, however, it was sunsetted as it was more or less a lighter rewrite of 2.x and had no better plugin-support.

Ultimately, you only want version 4.x to be available as 2.x is EoS and won't receive neither bug fixes nor feature requests.

Would dropping recaf v2.x from #354184 help with it's merge-ability?
(I'm asking, cause it seemed like it was hung up on unstable & platform dependent maven hashes, which were comming from the recaf v2.x version)
If yes, then I think it might be sensible of going down that route @pluiedev .

I mean as a policy we should try to only package the latest stable version if possible, but it looks like the dev is taking a sweet time to even make a 4.x alpha build. It might be more desirable then to prioritize 4.x but I'm not really interested in maintaining something this volatile.
