Community Guidelines

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all contributors, regardless of background or identity.

Expected Behavior

  • Be respectful and considerate in your communication
  • Welcome newcomers and help them get started
  • Accept constructive criticism gracefully
  • Focus on what is best for the community and project
  • Show empathy towards other community members

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are not acceptable in our community:

  • Use of inappropriate language or imagery
  • Personal attacks or insults
  • Public or private intimidation
  • Publishing others' private information without permission
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any instances of unacceptable behavior.

Project maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all project spaces, including the repository, issue tracker, discussions, and any other forums created by the project team.

It also applies when an individual is representing the project or its community in public spaces.

Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported by contacting the project team through:

  • GitHub Issues (for public matters)
  • GitHub Security Advisories (for private matters)
  • Opening a discussion in GitHub Discussions

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly.

The project team is obligated to maintain confidentiality with regard to the reporter of an incident.

Enforcement Guidelines

Project maintainers will follow these Community Impact Guidelines in determining the consequences for any action they deem in violation of this Code of Conduct:

1. Correction

Community Impact: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional.

Consequence: A private, written warning, providing clarity around the nature of the violation and an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate.

2. Warning

Community Impact: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.

Consequence: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people involved for a specified period of time. This includes avoiding interactions in community spaces as well as external channels.

3. Temporary Ban

Community Impact: A serious violation of community standards.

Consequence: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the community for a specified period of time.

4. Permanent Ban

Community Impact: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards.

Consequence: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.
