We are using ClimateTrace to calculate answers for some sectors of the GPC.
Our technique is to include annual summaries for point sources of emissions from ClimateTrace for different sectors. We then determine which of those point sources are inside the city's borders (a polygon), and sum them up to get an estimate for annual emissions for that sector.
We want to validate if this technique is accurate. To do so, we want to compare the values we get from ClimateTrace with self-reported values by the cities.
We suspect there may be systemic bias in the self-reported data, which should probably be corrected for.
A good first example would be aviation data (II.4).
