[Question] Warning when opening document with older version.

Hi,
I have a dual boot system. One runs openboard from the dev-branch the other the stable version from the repo (1.7.5, opensuse). When I open a file created/modified with the dev-version, I get this warning:
rough translation from german:
This document was created with a newer Version of openboard (4.9.0). Some information could be lost.
This confuses me.

• Does the document really change regularly or can I ignore the warning.
• Why version 4.9.0 ?

the version number is historical. With the dev branch, a big change is made in the structure of the OpenBoard docs, now coming with a Table Of Content (TOC) file referencing the different pages, medias, and their positions. It comes to stop big I/O operations every time one does something that changes the page order.

Maybe we could change the message so we don't expose the strange number (or translate it to OpenBoard's version number so user is given a useful information)

Yes. Therefore the warning.

• If you delete a page in the middle of the document with the dev version, all pages after that are not visible in previous versions.
• Reordering of pages will not be reflected in previous versions. Also added pages will appear at the wrong location.
• Some types of images are lost.

You can easily switch to the new version. The problems only occur if you want to switch back.

If you want to change the message, you would have to do it in some 1.7.x version, because the message is displayed when you open the new document with the previous OpenBoard version.

If I understand correctly, I can go back to 4.8.0 by exporting the whole tree an and reimporting it.

The error message is part of the already released 1.7.x versions and cannot be changed for any version up to 1.7.5.

Hmm, only partially. The problem with page ordering is fixed with this approach. But the problem with the images remains.
