After trying to connect to the localhost client I get an error:

This isn't an issue with Cosmic.

This is a very well known problem with the client. In fact, googling this will show solutions.

Either spam the client until you log in, or use EzorsiaV2. I'd also suggest looking at the support posts on the discord as others have faced this same issue.
