Based on your script I have made a cleaner implementation using Ansible:

The core functionality is similar, but my version does not kill discord unnecessarily and is able to install itself as a systemd timer cleanly.
I've also included the configuration needed to disable discord nagging for a new version.
I understand your code has been made 4 years ago and I'm not trying to be competition, I'm just offering my improved version as open source.
