Move FiltaQuilla to Extras menu near regular filter options

I suggest to permanently move the FQ submenu from here

to there:

The reason is that I find it annoying in the otherwise clean Thunderbird UI, and I need the FQ settings just rarely.

You can remove any Add-on button via right-click >> customize... on the toolbar area.

Also Add-ons are not permitted to modify menus in the way you suggested, the API only allows a single menu item (or popup) at the bottom of the tools menu. Would you like us to add an entry there? This would actually be harder to remove (there is no built in UI to manage such entries) and might clutter up the UX much more.

Toolbar customisation has been in Mozilla's programs for a long time. Also may i recommend to switch your toolbar to "Icons only" for a less cluttered experience? You can also add spacing / grouping on the same screen.

Actually, that was a good hint. I chose "symbols above text", which saves horizontal space already. Thanks a lot.

If you read again what I quoted before I wrote this, you will know that "this works" applied to removing the FQ button from the toolbar altogether, like you suggested. Your suggestion to compactify the toolbar came further below, and I also commented on that. It is the workaround I am using at the moment. It works for me, but I guess I would still like to have an entry on the bottom of the tools menu. It would provide users with a fall-back if they decide to eliminate the toolbar entry.

Yes, of course, but that is really not the entry point any normal user would like to use, just a last resort.

I think if I add it, I would like an option to remove it as well, tools menus are already quite long and a little cluttered. Somehow I feel I have more space on my toolbar for Add-on related stuff so personally I would configure it not to show in tools. but then I do not use the FiltaQuilla settings often in production... mostly only when I test my Add-ons, which happens on test profiles most of the time.

Generally, IMO the tool bar just contains a user-defined set of favourite or most used menu entries. Anything accessible via toolbar should also have a counterpart in the menu. But that is just me and my understanding of user experience.
