Unable to sign with Ledger

Getting this error when I try to sign a tx:

Error: Could not connect to Ledger device.\nMake sure it's connected and unlocked, with no other desktop wallet apps open.\n\nContext:\n- Error opening device. hidapi error: hid_error is not implemented yet. Hint: This usually means that the device is already in use by another transport instance.\n

Weirdly if I copy and paste the cast command in another terminal it works correctly.

Hey, thanks for testing this repository.

I believe this is a duplicate of #3, which has a root cause in foundry-rs/foundry#10330 (comment).

We're waiting for the Foundry team to address native signing of EIP-712 through Foundry without cast+ffi so that this can hopefully be fixed.

Have you found a workaround for this in the meantime? I see that it's slated for 1.4.0, but that might change.

I was thinking that if the issue is a conflict over access to the Ledger device, could it be made into a two-step process? One to sign the proposed batch and generate a signature (using cast mktx), then providing that signature to a forge script
