Template depencies are too old, we are unable to use latest shopify features

The dependencies used in php template are too old and it's not upgraded from a long time. The other language templates like node had its app bridge updated to v4, 2 months ago but the php template is still using 3.7. We can't manually upgrade it as it's a major upgrade and needs major changes. Please update it as soon as possible.

It seems that Shopify prioritizes the latest dependencies in its Remix app, with reduced emphasis on PHP support. The official focus appears to be shifting more toward JavaScript and other rapidly evolving front-end technologies, with PHP receiving less attention.

I guess you are right, as I got the same reply from shopify team as well. But that's not good. All of the developers can't move to javascript so fast. What about our already built applications in php. We can't migrate them all to remix. Shopify must understand this Or atleast release a notice informing the same.

Will this package be supported at all or it's already a sunset for the PHP(Laravel) solutions for Shopify apps? Since Shopify is still have this package as an official PHP template it would be nice to actualize all the package components.

I'm working a lightweight package that replaces this templates functionality. I'm using my own homegrown library for two apps, but I'm about to start a third.

It's main focus will be on leaning into the laravel way of doing things, and as a side bonus you can have your app be both embedded and non-embedded at the same time.
